Repairman education
We are looking for the specialists of the future! On the vocational training, established by APPLiA Hungary, future generations can learn the profession of home appliance repair technician.
The home appliance repair technician is the key player of the circular economy!
When our domestic appliance breaks down, we typically call a mechanic: 88% of domestic households have it repaired, if the appliance can be fixed economically, and only 12% decide to replace it, instead. This repair rate is only 31% on average in the European Union. However, the lack of specialists presents and increasing challenge. It is of particular importance to domestic manufacturers to be able to provide their customers with appropriate professional assistance if there’s a problem with their device. This is part of brand protection. For this reason, one of the biggest missions of APPLiA Hungary in recent years has been the development of a new, modern training and curriculum.
Components of the training
The course consists of both theoretical and practical training. The focus of the repair operations is on troubleshooting and problem solving, but we also place great emphasis on our students acquiring business, environmental and legal knowledge, as well as learning to communicate with customers.
Milestones
The professional panel of APPLiA Hungary decides in favor of developing a home appliance repair training of new, modern approach.
APPLiA’s training gets included in the OKJ (National Training Register), the first training starts at the Szent József Erősáramú Katolikus Technikum (Saint Joseph’s High Current Catholic Technical College/ Liska József High School) in Jászberény. Under the leadership of Tamás Madarász, the professional team is working on the elaboration of a new technical book.
The technical book titled Professional training for household appliance technicians marked by the name of Tamás Madarász is ready. The curriculum of the training is revised in the new adult education system.
In Budapest, the training starts at the Mechatronic Vocational High School as well. The technical book has been translated into English, Czech, Slovak, and future mechanics are already learning from it in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The right of international disposition over the book is transferred to APPLiA Europe by APPLiA Hungary.
In Jászberény, already the fourth year completes the training course of APPLiA. APPLiA Hungary receives a request to develop a lower level training. APPLiA also submits a proposal for the recast of the heat pump training.
